The re-scheduled 2009 Riponian Stages Rally took place on Sunday 15 March, and what a cracker it was! A capacity entry took to the forests on a perfect spring day, and provided some fantastic action and competition. The event was eventually won by Charlie Payne and Craig Thorley in their Mitsibushi Lancer Step 2 WRC.

Round 1 of the popular Ironman Karting Championship for 2009 was held at Teesside Autodrome on Sunday 25 January. Ingleby Barwick's Colin Peacock got his championship bid off to the best possible start, taking both pole position and victory.
